Etymology of taxonomy
It derives from the French taxonomie coined from the Greek words taxis (τάξις; order, arrangement) + -nomia (method) from -nomos (νόμος; managing, law) from nemein (manage, distribute, put in order).
In modern Greek
a) τάξις: order [taxis]
b) νόμος: law [nomos]
